Elyse Dunham, LPCC

Hi, I’m Elyse.
I grew up just outside Chicago in northwest Indiana, but five years ago the mountains called—and Colorado quickly became home. Since moving here, I’ve built a supportive community, completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and am now pursuing my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.
As a counselor, I aim to create a space where vulnerability feels safe and clients feel supported diving into the deeper layers of their experiences. I work from an attachment-informed lens, recognizing how relationships shape identity, connection, and healing. My approach blends Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, person-centered care, and holistic practices, including movement-based work influenced by my background as a dancer.
I work with a wide range of clients and particularly enjoy supporting those navigating neurodivergence, relationship concerns (individuals and couples), grief, and religious trauma. I have specifically found a lot of joy in helping couples where ADHD is part of the relationship dynamic, helping those who are late-diagnosed neurodivergent unpack the shame they may be weighed down by, and working with neurodiverse youth to help them learn healthy coping tools. My goal is always to meet clients where they are and offer care that honors both their strengths and their nervous system.
Outside the counseling room, you’ll find me at concerts, paddleboarding, playing pickleball, reading fantasy novels, or discovering new coffee shops to study in.

Shauna Maresh, LSW

Hi, I’m Shauna.
Having grown up in small-town New England, I began making my way out west shortly after high school, feeling drawn by nature and potential for adventure. I feel at peace on the Colorado Front Range and am excited to call it home with my family.
My path to social work was influenced by my own background, and desire to partner with people in discovering their strengths and promote healing. My approach to therapy is person-centered and strengths-based. I hold space for clients by affirming their individualized needs in a trauma-informed, welcoming environment.
I draw from multiple modalities including Attachment-Based Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Play Therapy, while always valuing experiential and holistic methods.
I work with children, young people, adults, and families on a wide variety of concerns. I have a passion for supporting those navigating domestic abuse, sexual violence, and family trauma. I particularly enjoy working with children, adolescents, and teens on understanding big emotions, fostering positive and affirming relationships, setting boundaries, and exploring identity and self-discovery.
Outside of my practice, you can find me reading, doing a jigsaw puzzle, or exploring the outdoors with my husband and our pets, Moose and Sunny.

Jenni Lillie, LPCC, ATR-P
-
Hi, I’m Jenni.
I’ve called Northern Colorado home with my family for over 20 years, and my path to becoming a counselor and art therapist has taken me through many meaningful seasons and careers. Those experiences shaped how I show up—present, grounded, and deeply committed to creating space for clients to feel seen and understood.
I offer a person-centered, relational, and trauma-informed approach, integrating techniques to support your unique needs and goals. As both a counselor and art therapist, I help clients explore emotions and experiences creatively when words aren’t enough. You don’t need to be an artist—just open to the process.
I believe healing happens through connection, safety, and trust, and I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can show up as your full self. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or carrying stories that haven’t had room to breathe, you’re not alone.
Together, we’ll work at your pace to deepen understanding, strengthen your inner resources, and create meaningful change. I’d be honored to support you on your journey.

Anna Vark, Clinical Intern- Art Therapist
-
Hi, I'm Anna.
I’m originally from Texas and moved to Colorado to pursue my Master’s in Transpersonal Art Therapy, which I’ll complete in Spring 2026. With a psychology degree and an art background, I was drawn to art therapy as a way to integrate creativity with mental health work. My training has strengthened my use of mindfulness-based, somatic, and expressive arts approaches to support clients in meaningful, holistic ways.
Before graduate school, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with children on the autism spectrum, which grounded me in evidence-informed, trauma-aware, and client-centered care. I now bring that experience into my work with children, families, and individuals of all ages.
Art therapy’s unique triangular relationship—between the client, therapist, and art—offers access to emotions and insights that talk therapy alone may not reach. I view creativity as a powerful tool for emotional regulation, self-exploration, and mind–body integration.
My approach combines art therapy, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and humanistic and transpersonal psychology to help clients clarify concerns, gain perspective, and reconnect with their strengths.
Outside of sessions, I enjoy being outdoors, cooking, reading, and creating artwork of my own.

Jammie Speyer, LPCC, Group & Community Programming Lead
-
Hi, I'm Jammie.
I’ve lived in Colorado most of my life and have called Erie home since 2016, where my husband, three kids, and I enjoy the small-town feel and easy access to hiking, paddle boarding, and fishing.
Most of my adult life has been spent teaching yoga, meditation, and early childhood education. I also have experience working as a postpartum doula. Now, as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, I bring that background into a relational, attachment-based approach grounded in Interpersonal Neurobiology.
I use a person-centered style, helping clients recognize their strengths and build practical tools for growth. My work blends mindfulness, neuroscience-informed practices, and solution-focused strategies to support people through life’s challenges.
I work with individual adults, teenagers, and families navigating grief, trauma, and the impact of substance use on family systems. My goal is to create a safe space where clients can process deeply, identify strengths, and move toward thriving—not just surviving.
I offer daytime and evening sessions in person, as well as telehealth and walk-and-talk appointments in Erie.
Training includes: Synergetic Play Therapy Level I, Brainspotting Phase I, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT for Children and Adolescents, Neurosculpting, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, and Shambhala Meditation Levels I–IV.

Solace Counseling Leadership Team
Amanda Wurst, LCSW
Owner & Founder

Hi, I'm Amanda.
I come from a long line of helpers—social workers, therapists, and teachers—so moving into this work felt natural. After years in child welfare, I now support adults (18+) in private practice. At this time, I am not accepting new clients.
My specialty is perinatal mental health, walking with birthing people and families through pregnancy, postpartum, and the many transitions that follow. I’m trained through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and love being part of the healing that happens with the right support.
I also enjoy working with couples using the Gottman Method, helping partners strengthen communication and connection at any stage of their relationship.
My style is integrative and systems-focused, pulling from CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches—always with room for humor when it fits. I am not accepting new clients at this time.
I’ve called Colorado home since earning my MSW from the University of Denver in 2006. I live in Erie with my middle schooler, fourth grader, and our Labradoodle, and I’m grateful to support the community I’m part of.

Tabitha Steiner, LPC, LAC
Owner & Partner
-
Hi, I'm Tabitha.
Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies in St. Louis before moving to Erie in 2017 with my partner. We embrace the Colorado outdoors through running, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and snowboarding—even with four kids 8 and under keeping life moving at a faster pace!
My passion for the helping professions began early, inspired by my own experiences in therapy during childhood. I started my counseling journey working with children and adolescents in schools, residential, and outpatient settings, where I witnessed the incredible resilience of youth. More recently, my focus has shifted to adults, specializing in emerging adulthood, adjusting to major life changes, exploring challenging family dynamics, parenting, and living with addiction.
I provide client-centered, personalized care, integrating DBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. As an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, I create a safe and inclusive space for all individuals.
As co-owner of Solace Counseling, I also support therapists through mentoring and supervision, while contributing to business development and community engagement. I offer in-person and telehealth sessions for clients over the age of 15, helping them navigate life’s transitions with resilience, self-agency, and empowerment.

Jenna Bullard, Client Engagement and Operations Coordinator

Hi! I’m Jenna. I hold a B.S. in Integrative Studies and a Master’s in Library Information Science from the University of North Texas. I’m also the co-founder of the non-profit Erie Gives Back, an initiative close to my heart that reflects my passion for building community and creating meaningful connections. After growing up in Oklahoma and living in Rhode Island and Texas, my husband and I have called Erie home since 2014. We have three children in 10th, 8th and 3rd grade- and share our home with a dog and a cat, both of which are questionable decisions on any given day. In my free time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, playing board games, exploring new places, and planning events that bring people together. I am also learning to watercolor.
