  • Therapy is beneficial at any stage of life, whether you’re facing a specific challenge or just need a space to process emotions. You may find therapy helpful if:

    • You feel stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained

    • You’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or stress

    • You’re navigating relationship issues, loss, or major life changes

    • You want to improve self-esteem, boundaries, or communication skills

    • You feel like you need guidance, support, or a fresh perspective

  • In the first session, your therapist will ask about your background, the challenges you're facing, and your goals for therapy. This helps build a foundation for your work together and allows you and the therapist to develop a plan tailored to your needs.

  • No, you don’t need to have a specific problem to start therapy. Therapy can be helpful for anyone seeking personal growth, support during life transitions, or ways to improve overall well-being.

  • In a 55-minute session, your therapist will help you explore challenges, identify patterns, and develop coping strategies—focusing on empowerment and coping strategies, rather than just giving advice.

You'll know therapy is working when you notice improvements in your emotional health, relationships, and overall well-being, with regular check-ins to track progress and adjust treatment as needed.

  • It's important that you feel comfortable and supported in therapy, and it's okay if you feel that your therapist may not be the right fit, finding the right therapist can take time.

If you feel your therapist is not the right fit, we encourage you to discuss your concerns with them. However, if you're not comfortable sharing this directly, feel free to reach out to our business office to further discuss what will work better for you. We can help you explore the option of changing therapists within our practice or refer you to a professional outside of our group. We never want you to feel discouraged from continuing with therapy, and we are committed to supporting you in finding the right care.

  • No, none of our clinicians are medical doctors or nurse practitioners, so we do not prescribe medication. However, if you and your therapist feel that medication could benefit you, we can provide you with a list of trusted providers to whom we can refer you for a consultation.

  • The way you feel after a therapy session can vary depending on the topics discussed and the emotions you explored. Some people may feel relief, clarity, or a sense of calm after a session, while others might feel emotionally drained or even triggered.

These reactions are normal and part of the therapeutic process. Over time, as you work through challenges, you may begin to notice a greater sense of emotional balance, increased self-awareness, and improved coping skills. It’s important to give yourself time to process and integrate what you’ve learned in each session, and to communicate with your therapist if you ever feel uncertain or need additional support.

  • Yes, we offer tele-health (virtual sessions) for clients who prefer to meet remotely or cannot attend in-person sessions. We host online appointments through Simple Practice, a confidential and HIPAA-compliant platform, to ensure your privacy and security.
