Solace Counseling Clinical Team

Danya Odom, LPC

  • I am originally from Northwest Kansas and come from a farming and ranching background. Because of that close knit and service oriented community, living and working in Erie feels like a natural fit! I completed undergraduate work at Middle Tennessee State University and then graduate training with a MA in Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2005.

Having served in community mental health as a crisis therapist and in private practice, I have experience working through a trauma informed lens with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. I have supported individuals and their support systems while navigating life with depression, bipolar depression, anxiety and related issues, trauma related issues, psychosis, life transition, grief/loss, finding balance in the chaos, and various challenges that come up developmentally or as "Life happens". Often times these difficulties are tangled with, or may be a result of, substance use/abuse, navigating parenting, family of origin relationships, marriage/partnership strain or changes. I'm here for it all.

I believe in treating the whole person, coming along side an individual and working as a team to accomplish goals based on the value system of my client. I have a foundational background in Cognitive Behavioral therapy that has led to additional training in Dialectical Behavior therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy, both mindfulness based approaches. Understanding that everyone is unique, I believe it is important to also pull in other strategies in order tailor what works for the individual. A lot of what tends to be infused is compassion focused work as well as mindfulness/meditation as it seems everyone can benefit from finding a little more safety in their own minds and bodies. Often times journaling, utilizing a workbook, listening to podcasts, and/or outside reading is extremely helpful and accelerates progress. Some great authors I have used and come highly recommended are John Gottman, Ph.D. for relationship/marriage issues, Marshall Rosenburg, Ph.D. surrounding compassionate communication, and a variety of people for mindfulness including Thich Nhat Hanh. Not all things work for all people, the important thing is to find what moves you. I am currently working with adults and am meeting both through video tele-therapy, and in person Monday through Friday.

Jammie Speyer, LPCC

  • I've lived in Colorado for most of my life and in Erie since 2016 with my husband and three children. We cherish the small-town atmosphere and the easy access to outdoor activities like hiking, paddle boarding, and fishing.

Most of my adult life has been spent teaching yoga, meditation, and early childhood education. Now, I'm embarking on a new adventure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate. My approach to mental health is profoundly relational and attachment-based, drawing heavily from Interpersonal Neurobiology.

With a person-centered focus, I guide clients in recognizing and amplifying their strengths to reach their goals. I blend mindfulness, neuroscience, and solution-focused techniques to empower individuals to thrive amidst life's challenges.

My practice extends to families, children, and individuals navigating grief, trauma, and the impact of substance use on family systems. My aim is not just to help people survive difficult circumstances but to thrive and evolve. I provide a safe space for complex emotions to surface, offering support as we identify strengths and create actionable plans. When working with children, I adapt my methods to suit their developmental needs, incorporating play, art, and movement into our sessions.

Supporting individuals and families on their journey toward improved well-being is an honor.

Sessions are available in person during the day, evenings, and weekends. Telehealth appointments and walk-and-talk sessions in Erie, CO, are also options. Certifications and training include Synergetic Play Therapy Level I, Brainspotting Phase I, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT for Children and Adolescents, Neurosculpting, Trauma Informed Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, and Shambhala Meditation Levels I, II, III, and IV

Megan Reichstein, LPC

  • My Name is Megan Reichstein, and I was born and raised in Colorado. I attended the University of Northern Colorado for my undergraduate degree in elementary education. Through this experience, I found that I loved working with kids and wanted to support them on a deeper level. This prompted me to further my education in the counseling realm, and I earned my Master's degree through Colorado Christian University, which started my journey as a therapist. I like to provide a therapeutic space with compassion, empathy and creativity, while being proactive and facilitating accountability to support desired change.

Throughout my years in the field, I have worked with a wide range of mental health conditions and diverse populations. I started my career working with adolescents in residential treatment for substance use, and provided therapeutic support through individual, group and family counseling. I enjoyed being a part of their journeys toward recovery. Some of my additional areas of speciality include Executive Functioning Coaching and Technology and Media Overuse. I currently work with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families. I support those who struggle with a variety of mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, social anxiety, family dynamics, ADHD, executive functioning, grief and trauma.

I believe in using mindfulness approaches while also using a person-centered approach, motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused psychotherapy treatments. I believe in meeting people where they are to create a therapeutic experience that addresses the needs of each individual.

I believe that Brene Brown said it perfectly when she stated, “Daring greatly means the courage to be vulnerable, it means to show up and be seen, to ask for what you need, to talk about how you're feeling, to have the hard conversation.” I am here to support you in being vulnerable, showing up for yourself and your needs, and having the hard conversations to start the positive journey toward your goals. Let’s step into this journey of awareness, healing, and self-discovery to provide the transformation you desire.

Outside of being a therapist, I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I love sports and attending sporting events. Although I did not attend the University of Colorado Boulder, I am a huge fan! I come from a long line of CU graduates and have bled black and gold my entire life. Go Buffs!

Clare Mackin, Clinical Intern

  • I'm originally from Colorado, and am happy to have recently returned after living in Nashville for a few years. I'm pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, with an expected graduation in May 2025. My journey into counseling was shaped by my diverse experiences working with children and families in various settings.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. My professional background includes teaching preschool, working in a residential treatment home for adolescents, and being a nanny. These experiences have deepened my understanding of family dynamics and the importance of early intervention in mental health.

In my practice, I embrace a client-centered approach, believing that everyone has the innate strengths needed for growth. I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other strength-based methods to tailor treatment to each individual's needs. I also incorporate mindfulness and meditation practices to address the mind-body connection.

I am passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and other stigmatized groups. I offer in-person sessions on the weekends and evenings for clients 5 years of age and older.

In my free time, I enjoy drawing, singing, playing guitar, reading, going on walks, and indulging in a good reality show. I am excited to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Taylor Wilson, MFTC

  • I was born and raised in Southcentral Alaska and grew up hiking, skiing, camping and fishing in the great outdoors. I earned my Master’s Degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Colorado at Denver. Prior to grad school, I worked as a software engineer in the aerospace industry.

My desire to work in mental health began with my own journey as a client experiencing the transformative support of a therapist at a challenging time in my life. My passion is also rooted in going through the “pressure cooker” of my years as a student and watching the impacts of a high achieving environment on the mental health of my peers.

I believe that satisfying and secure relationships are at the core of a meaningful life and I approach my work with both individual and couples clients from an attachment informed lens. My work focuses on relational issues including processing the impacts of family of origin, friendships, dating and romantic relationships.  I have completed the first and second level training for Emotionally Focused Therapy, a research-based modality developed by Dr. Sue Johnson.

In EFT couples therapy, neither partner is viewed as the problem. Rather, we look together at the cycle of negative interaction that partners get into over and over again which leads to disconnection, repeated unresolved conflicts and unmet needs in the relationship for both parties. As an EFT therapist, I take the stance that beneath every argument there is an unmet emotional need and a longing for connection. The goal of our work together will be to transform negative interactional patterns by exploring each partner’s perspective, needs and longings such that a deeper level of understanding and compassion emerges for one another. If you would like to get a taste for what Emotionally Focused Therapy will be like, I recommend reading Hold Me Tight by Dr. Sue Johnson.

The willingness to ask for help and attempt new ways of being, both in a relationship with ourselves and with others, takes courage. I feel tremendous respect for my clients who allow me to walk with them on the deeply vulnerable path of intrapersonal and interpersonal discovery, acceptance and evolution. I value cultural humility and believe that clients are the experts in their identities and experiences. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and aim to provide a safe container for those with marginalized identities.

In my free time, I enjoy crafting, gardening and nerding out on the latest sci-fi and fantasy media.

Solace Counseling Leadership Team

Amanda Wurst, LCSW

Owner & Founder

  • I come from a family of social workers, therapists and teachers. When it was time to choose my career in 1999/2000, there was no question about the direction I would go. I have spent much of my career in the child welfare realm, in clinical and supervisory roles. I currently work with adults 18 years and older, via confidential video tele-therapy and in-person, office visits.

Since working in private practice, my passion has centered around perinatal mental health. With 1 in 8 women experiencing anxiety, depression and life adjustment during this time in their lives (and beyond), I enjoy and am honored to provide this essential support to women and their families. It is a joy to see the truth that with treatment, women do get better. I am a member of, and trained through the Postpartum Support International (PSI).

I have also found an interest and a niche in working with couples. I practice using the Gottman Method from a renowned leader and researcher in this work, John Gottman. Over the years, I learned couples benefit from therapy during any point in their relationship.

I use a whole systems approach in my work, and humor when appropriate! I see humor as essential in life. My therapeutic approaches tend to fall more along the lines of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), where we identify potential faulty thinking that may be leading to unhelpful behavior. I also study and incorporate Mindfulness approaches that focus on connecting the mind and body. I particularly value the mental health benefits in the practice of yoga. I study the work of Brene Brown and Glennon Doyle Melton by incorporating their research and work on shame, guilt, authenticity and self-love. I am also involved in work and participate in a group that focuses on solidarity against racial injustice, and consider myself an advocate for other stigmatized groups.

In addition to providing outpatient mental health therapy and operating Solace Counseling (going into our 5th year), I also teach undergraduate Social Work students as an adjunct professor at a local college, as well as provide supervision to budding social workers/therapists.

I have lived in four states, 3 of which I attended college, the fourth one I sat in traffic (Chicago, IL)! Colorado has been calling my name from Nebraska for as long as I can remember. I finally made it out here in 2006 and found myself immersed into the mountain culture. I earned my Master degree in Social Work from University of Denver in 2006!

I am an Erie resident and am passionate about providing support within my own growing community, and the surrounding areas. I have a middle schooler, a 2nd grader, and a Labradoodle!

Micah Frank, BA,SHRM-CP

Client & Employee Relations Manager

  • I am originally from Wyoming but have been loving life in Erie for 8 years. My family and I enjoy all of the things that Colorado has to offer and spend lots of time outside gardening and in the mountains.

I spent 15 years in the hospitality industry before I realized exactly how I wanted to help employees and clients. I graduated with my BA from The University of Wyoming in May, 2024 with a degree in Organizational Leadership and received my SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resources Management- Certified Professional) certificate shortly after. This certificate encompasses various competencies in the field from employment law, risk management and DE&I to talent acquisition. With my education and experience, I bring support to Solace Counseling clients, and help make Solace Counseling a great work place in which employees can thrive. You might see me in the office, running around town doing special projects, chatting with me on the phone and/or hosting community events. Fostering the community feeling in the place I call home is something I am passionate about, I am honored to be a part of it in this way.

Tabitha Steiner, LPC, LAC

Owner & Partner

  • Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, I stuck to the midwest and pursued my undergraduate and graduate education in St. Louis, MO. Drawn to the mountains and outdoor lifestyle, my partner and I relocated to Erie in 2016. Here, we embrace activities like mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, and hiking every chance we get, though at a slightly different pace now that we’ve added 4 kids 7 and under to the mix!

From an early age, I felt a calling to the helping profession, inspired by my own experiences with therapy during significant family shifts during my childhood. My counseling journey began working with children and adolescents, where I witnessed incredible resilience. Over the years, I've worked across diverse settings—from inside elementary and middle schools, to residential and outpatient facilities for high school students. In more recent years, my focus has shifted to working more with adults, specializing in mental health and wellness during life transitions and recovery from substance use.

I integrate various therapeutic modalities tailored to each client's needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. I am dedicated to adapting my approach to ensure it best serves my clients, believing in personalized, client-centered care. As an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for all individuals.

As co-owner of Solace Counseling, outside of my time spent in session with clients, I play a role in daily operations of the business, mentoring therapists and providing internship and licensure supervision, and contributing to business development and community engagement projects.

It is such an honor and privilege to walk alongside my clients in their wellness journeys, and I am passionate about contributing to the health and healing of the Erie community. Whether through virtual tele-therapy or in-person sessions, I collaborate closely with clients of all ages to identify their goals and navigate life's transitions with resilience and empowerment.
